French Baking Classic Pastry Cream Almond Dessert

A simple and classic recipe for French Almond Cream, or Frangipane. It's a rich, nutty, and slightly sweet filling perfect for tarts, pastries, and cakes. This version is simple to make and always delicious.

Ingredients

  • Butter – 125 g
  • Caster Sugar – 125 g
  • Ground Almonds – 150 g
  • Custard Powder – 25 g
  • Flour – 1 tbsp
  • Medium Eggs – 2
Total: Enough for one tart or cake

Method

  1. Place the sugar, flour and custard powder into a bowl and whisk.
  2. Add the butter and cream. Mix well.
  3. Add eggs and almond bit by bit.
  4. Pour into a lined cake tin and bake at 160c for 35mins.
