Method

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream Butter & Sugars: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar with an electric mixer until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  3. Add Wet Ingredients: Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  5. Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula. Do not overmix the dough.
  6. Bake: Drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
